Who we are

Residual connects companies that own business records with AI data buyers. This website is run by Residual (“we”, “us”), a business in formation; we will name the legal entity here once it is registered. We decide how the information described here is used. What we collect

• Your answers to our questionnaire: company name and website, industry, size, years of records, location, status, the tools you use and anything you'd want left out.
• Your contact details: your name, work email, role, and phone number and who referred you, if you give them.
• What our hosting provider records: your IP address and browser details, kept briefly for security and to keep the site running.

This form never asks for passwords or access to your systems. Your company's records do not pass through this website.

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

• To prepare your estimate and contact you about it. You asked us to, and you ticked the box agreeing to be contacted.
• To introduce your company to potential buyers, but only if you tell us to. Before we do, we agree in writing with you what is shared and who receives it.
• To run and protect the website, for example by blocking spam. This is in our legitimate interests.

We don't sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that store and process information for us under contract. These are Cloudflare, which hosts the website, and Google Workspace, which stores enquiries and our email.
• AI data buyers and their processing partners, only with your written approval and only the details you approve.
• Professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.

International transfers

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards. These include the UK–US Data Bridge, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for up to 24 months after we were last in touch, then delete them. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• show you the information we hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• stop or limit how we use it
• give you a copy to take elsewhere

You can also withdraw your agreement to be contacted at any time. Email hello@joinresidual.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We don't use cookies, analytics or tracking. While you fill in the questionnaire, your answers are kept in your own browser so you don't lose them if you go back a step. They stay on your device until you close the tab. Our fonts are served from this website, so loading a page doesn't contact any other company.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
